DEMOCRATIC TICKET. Going the whole Hog.

Click for image enlargement
An illustrated election ticket for Martin Van Buren and Richard M. Johnson, listing Ohio Democratic electors for the presidential race of 1836. The ticket is illustrated with a small vignette of a man carrying a hog, and uttering the Democratic campaign slogan "Going the whole Hog." The hog remarks, "Pork 10 cts. pr. lb."--perhaps a favorable reflection on the economy under the Democrats.

Given its similarities in typography and design to nos. 1836-17, -18 , and -19, and the ticket is probably from the same press.
