A grand, pro-Union allegorical print, produced as a complimentary "Presentation Plate" for the "Philadelphia Inquirer" newspaper in 1864. Liberty stands on the steps of an altar, wearing a breastplate, cape, and helmet. In her left hand she wields a sword, and in her right hand she holds a Union flag and an olive branch. On an altar to the right rest two stone tablets inscribed with a triangle and two clasped hands. At her right is a crouching female figure of Justice, and behind her is a lion. At Liberty's left is the figure of Industry, holding a spindle, with a child in her lap. In the foreground is a cornucopia overflowing with fruit.
