ZACHARY TAYLOR, THE People's Choice for 12th President.

Complete Explanation:
A Whig campaign banner for the 1848 presidential election. In the center of a facsimile cloth banner is an oval bust portrait of candidate Zachary Taylor in military uniform. Surrounding the oval, on a field decorated with stars, are oval bust length portraits of the eleven former American Presidents (clockwise from top): George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, Andrew Jackson, William Henry Harrison, James K. Polk, John Tyler, Martin Van Buren, John Quincy Adams, James Madison, and John Adams. At the top of the banner, flanking Washington, John Adams (left), and Jefferson (right) are American and presidential flags. At the bottom of the banner, inscribed on a ribbon are the words "The Presidents of the United States."

An almost identical banner was produced by Currier for Democratic candidate Lewis Cass (no. 1848-4).
